Looking for a place where you can be yourself, meet new people, and make a difference? At COC Limburg, we stand up for the rights of queer youth every day. Whether you’re searching for support, a fun community, or ways to take action, we are here for you. We engage with policymakers, conduct research, organise events, and, most importantly, make sure your voice is heard.
If you’re between 12 and 18 years old:
We invite you to join our Jong&Out project, which organises monthly meet-ups in Maastricht, Sittard-Geleen, Heerlen, Roermond, Weert, and Maasgouw. It’s a safe and fun environment where you can connect with peers who understand you. While meetings are primarily held in Dutch, English speakers are very welcome! Visit the Jong&Out community at www.jongenout.nl or check our event calendar for upcoming gatherings.
If you’re between 18 and 30 years old:
You’re welcome at Jolo, our queer youth group that meets monthly in different locations throughout Limburg. Jolo offers an opportunity to socialise, share experiences, and build friendships in an inclusive and supportive environment. Most participants speak Dutch, but we warmly welcome international members too—language will never be a barrier!
If you are a student:
Every Thursday evening, our student group Dionyx organises youth and student gatherings at Café Rosé Maastricht. Whether you’re looking to meet new friends, participate in events, or simply relax in a safe space, Dionyx is the perfect place. The primary language at Dionyx is English, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included.
Want to make a difference internationally?
Join WIDE, the international working group of COC Limburg. WIDE is dedicated to cross-border queer activism, organising activities such as attending Pride events in Germany and Belgium, participating in international exchanges, and collaborating with queer youth groups across Europe. As COC Limburg is a member of IGLYO—the international queer youth organisation—we actively encourage our members and visitors to engage with this vibrant international community. WIDE creates opportunities for queer youth to become involved in activism, build valuable connections, and develop their leadership skills within an inspiring international network. Meetings take place mostly online and are held primarily in English.
Supporting queer youth in schools
COC Limburg is actively involved in schools across Limburg, providing engaging educational workshops on diversity, inclusion, and equity delivered by our trained volunteers. We support Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) groups through workshops and training for students and staff, and we supply educational resources in partnership with COC Netherlands. Schools are also welcome to schedule educational visits to our centre for interactive learning experiences.
Internship opportunities at COC Limburg
If you are interested in gaining practical experience while contributing to the queer community, consider an internship with COC Limburg. We are officially accredited for MBO social work internships, and we offer diverse internship possibilities for HBO and university students, such as positions in media and PR, event management, or research on queer topics.
